A very hidden place at the same plaza of samurai Japanese BBQ. There's no sign of the restaurant. Just ask and push the glass door in and through the dimming-light path, then you will see the very intimate open kitchen with seats. It's by appointment, 5:30pm or 8pm. $250 PP. there's also the wine and sake pairing, or you can order beers and teas. There's the introduction with presentation with every course. Each course is tiny, but they do get you filled up at the end (not very full but enough and content). I wouldn't say it's the best or must try. But it is worth of it with the price, and the service is great. They do change their menu every month. My favorites of the meal are Uni, Otoro, tuna sashimi, and wagyu
Beautifully designed and intimate omakase experience. The service is impeccable, perfect for a special occasion. Every dish was beautifully displayed and meticulously explained. I cannot stress enough how this is dining perfection. Every dish was beautifully composed and so flavorful and delicious. My one complaint is that we were offered additional nigiri but were not told it was priced ala carte. I have been to many omakases and often you are told that you can eat until you are satisfied. It would be nice if the service indicated that ala care nigiri is not included in the omakase price.
Kaiseki Sanga has been on my radar for a few years now, as I live in California and wanted to experience dinner here on a special occassion. This past weekend I was able to secure a reservation to celebrate my husband's birthday, and it was such a wonderful and memorable tableservice from start to finish. Arriving at the entrance it was hard to anticipate what the restaurant would look inside, but once you step in, it feels as if you are really in Japan for a moment. The ambiance was warm, welcoming, and tranquil, and it doesn't make you feel nervous as some high end places do. All chefs and wait staffs were attentive and worked beautifully in unison. They took the time to go over each dish, and explained the concept as well as the origin of each ingredient used. Not to mention the presentation of preparing each item right in front of you is such a spectacular experience. The dinner is about 2 hours long so definitely make sure to come with an empty stomach. You will most definitely be full by the end of it :) If you are looking for an authentic traditional Japanese Kaiseki, I can vouch for this place 110%
So this trip we ate at both Kaiseki Sanga and Kabuto which are actually owned by the same Mon Restaurant Group - which I didn't know until after the fact! They are both outstanding and I highly recommend them! I plan to check out other restaurants owned by this group. Kaiseki Sanga was a very high end experience with outstanding service. From the moment we arrived we were impressed to be greeted outside and escorted in via the gorgeous long Japanese style corridor. This Kaiseki menu has a ton of high end ingredients: A5 wagu (both as a steak and lightly seared as sushi) uni, toro (multiple times), gold leaf, roe, lobster, truffle, etc! Everything was the top quality and so delicious! They use the red vinegar sticky rice here which was a neat diversion from the traditional white rice but it was also delicious. The service was wonderful. Each course was announced and explained and all 11 of us were served at the same time (by multiple chefs). My drink also never got below half full before it was refilled. In addition to the great service it was entertaining to watch the 3 chefs prepare the many courses right in front of us. Do be prepared though that Kaiseki Sanga is traditional Japanese so you will be eating some dishes more interesting & off the beaten path than 'main stream Japanese' both in ingredients, flavor combinations and texture. But if you are prepared for that, or have experienced that when visiting Japan, then you will enjoy your meal.
Talk about underrated. Honestly i have driven by this strip mall a billion times and even dined in this unassuming strip mall because one of our ramen spots is here. I was looking for a night out on the town and looking for some high quality Japanese food and found this place pop up. Made a reservation to try this spot out and showed up on the day of. Like i said this place is literally tucked away with no signs and a locked door right until open time. Once they unlocked the door, the magic began with being walked down a long dark hallway which then opens to a beautiful dining bar (10 seats or so) with a few different chefs hard at work. The service is top notch from start to finish. Super attentive, efficient, and friendly. the menus change monthly based upon seasonality and they start the course by showing you a basket of all the ingredients you will be consuming that day. The colors are vibrant with the bright orange fresh color of the uni and caviar, wagyu and vegetables all plated. Our course was broken down by the following : an amuse consisting of ama dai with daikon radish. a light and airy dish with the fish being cooked well. complex flavors but built in a soothing way. The next course was a tray of appetizers all beautifully curated. this consisted of chawanmushi with ikura, a cream cheese bite, satsuma, etc. All of it was not overpowering the other and it was just delicious. The next course was a soup with crab cake boiled in the middle. The broth was absolutely clean and the crab was pure in taste. lovely way to progress into our sashimi course. The sashimi course was high quality and vibrant colors. Simple but elegant presentation of the fish. The next course was a nabe pot with Napa cabbage, in season shimeji mushrooms. The nabe was very delicious and the warm broth warmed my entire body. the next course was the wagyu beef made from specific gender and cut of beef from japan. absolutely tender piece of filet mignon and beautifully cooked. Delicious. The next course was our sushi which consisted of Akamai, kinme tai, Sawara, wagyu, negi toro, otoro, and red miso soup. All the sushi was beautifully prepared, high quality and delicious. Obviously the uni stole my heart as it always does but everything was just phenomenal. The dessert was a perfect way to end the meal. All in all, this is the most balanced kaiseki meal i have had in Vegas for sure and even rivals a lot of the great places i have had in the US. the flavors are all complex but delicately put together and the ingredients are truly highlighted for what they are. Delicious meal in Vegas and will certainly find myself again here in the future when i look for an upscale meal. Definitely a great local business off strip that deserves more credit!
This was literally the best meal in my entire life. This is not an exaggeration. You have the top notch ingredients, skilled chefs, super service, and you're watching and eating right at the counter. They accommodate anything you can throw at them (although they say they can't take responsibility for life threatening allergies, which I get). The chef talks to you directly to know what you can do or not eat. They have a set menu that changes by the month, with the exception of anything you need to change to accommodate your dietary restrictions. The restaurant is in an unassuming strip mall with opaque glass and a non-assumint sign that just says Sanga. The door is locked until a few minutes before your reservation. You walk in to an unassuming entryway and a hallway that opens up into a small Japanese garden and a long countertop area where you will be for the next 2 hrs unless you visit the bathroom (which by the way has an automatic toilet seat and is heated, nice touch). You're seated at the counter (total seats 10) and you have a front row seat to all the kitchen magic they do that you normally see on a show like Iron Chef, except here you are the one eating it. Each bite gets better and better and you keep thinking wow, what am I eating? Only to find that the next course is just another level. The quality of the ingredients and the skill of these chefs is next level. This isn't your everyday meal. Come here for a celebration and you'll remember it for a long time. Came here for an anniversary, and they even surprised us with some special decor for the dessert. On to the food! The first dish was half cold, half hot. The chawanmushi (my wife had it, I'm allergic to the egg) was absolutely amazing and nourishing. Not too much else to say about this dish other than the black cod was cooked to perfection, and the hokkaido scallops tasted so absolutely pure and delectable. I'm going to run out of words to describe the food. Soup course might have been my favorite. Some sort of char roasted salmon in a white miso broth topped with yuzu. So simple and yet so expertly crafted, the depth of flavor is unlike anything I've ever eaten. I savored every drop of this. This ruined miso for me.. can't top this. Sashimi course was spanish mackerel + chu toro with freshly made wasabi and in-house made 3 year aged soy sauce. Oh my gosh so fresh and so pure and melt in your mouth, I think I even finished the soy sauce. Nabe course was a5 wagyu beef, mushrooms with a poached egg (skipped mine). This has now surprassed sukiyaki for me. Surf course was maine lobster with uni cream sauce, uni, and generously shaved truffle. I couldn't eat the lobster main item and they subbed it out for me with a nice chunk of sea perch cooked the same way - which looked like fried and then grilled, followed by torch to the uni. The lobster presentation looked a lot better than mine, but the flavor meld was just insane. Turf course was probably the star for me. Wagyu beef filet mignon - panko katsu'd. Accompaniments - some sort of red miso bbq sauce they made, dijon mustard seeds, fresh wasabi, squeeze of lemon. Wow. Katsu surpassed. Thinnest katsu crust, not oily, deep wagyu flavor. And wow that miso bbq sauce with the mustard, this was crazy. Next was sushi course. The best part of this kaiseki is that you get the sushi omakase feel along with all the other amazing stuff. Each piece is made right in front of you just before you eat it. The best kanpachi (yellowtail) I've ever had, akami (tuna), followed by Hannari kobe beef (only 230 cows per year in Japan) which was torched and has the texture I didn't know beef can have (might have been my favorite bite of the meal), followed by negitoro + uni + caviar handroll, spanish mackerel, and otoro that was seared with a straight up hot iron rod. Chased by a red miso broth. Dessert course was a matcha panna cotta + red bean + strawberry, grilled apple ice cream (refreshing), and expertly made matcha tea. Overall great end to the meal. They also made us a nice happy anniversary surprise. I knew this was going to be good but I didn't know how good. I'm still thinking about that meal and it's been over a week.
Imagine watching your favorite food TV show live where you get to eat the food they prepare in front of you. That's pretty much my way of explaining this Kaiseki experience. When you walk in you're greeted with this long dark hallway that you follow which leads you to this amazing open kitchen. You sit in an intimate setting with a lot of room for you to eat as well as enjoy the chef's preparing your food. If you've haven't been to an Omakase or similar, I'd say this is more of a tasting course where they give you several types of dishes with using a variety of seasonal and/or premium ingredients. The difference with this is that it's not so heavy on sushi as much as an Omakase would be. The food changes monthly depending on season so you know you'll know that every ingredient you're eating is at its most best version. The flavors are very Japanese in the sense that the flavor's aren't so salty and loud as typical other fine dining may be so take that with a grain of salt (ha). The experience of them carefully preparing each dish in front of you is the main reason why you'd come here. Expect 2+ hours as this is a full experience in which I'd consider it a full show. Feel free to ask questions as it can be an interactive experience. Just note that their English can be a little broken, but there is a lady there that speaks good English.
I would never have found this place without the help of the Amex Platinum Concierge- it's really not advertised much online. I called the week we were planning to go to Vegas to ask about a tasting menu; they took five minutes, got back on the line and said "there's two seats available at Kaiseki Sanga. you want to go there." They were very much correct. If you're a fan of tasting menus and are struggling to decide where to go - the kaiseki experience at Kaiseki Sanga is FAR better than anything you'll find on the strip. It's a whirlwind of A5 wagyu beef, perfectly-prepared sushi, and a gorgeous selection of hot and cold dishes. We decided to pair with the Premium Sake tasting menu - each bottle showcased had a story behind it, so if you're a sake fan, definitely splurge a little and go for it. There are only about 10 or 12 seats per dinner seating, so this is a very intimate experience. Dishes are prepared in front of you and the chefs will bring around certain parts of the dish to showcase before cooking. The couple sitting next to us lives in Las Vegas and had been here SIX TIMES. The menu changes every month, so it's never the same. Special items like caviar and wagyu that you'd typically pay extra for at other Vegas tasting menus are highlighted as main courses at Kaiseki Sanga; the meat is so incredibly tender. This is also not a place where they skimp on portions either - I walked out stuffed. Strange tip, but make sure you check out the toilet while you're there.
Was very excited to explore this establishment. I missed out the last time when I visited LV. Looking for this restaurant was a challenge, no fancy sign of that sort. Tinted windows and a door. Once you enter and walk into a dimly hallway, you will see the dining seating. There's 2 dinner seating, 530pm and 8pm. Service here is impressive and attention to details. Host Rich and his partner was amazing with service and knowledge. This is unlike any omakase, you'll get a set course and if you're wanting more of something you like, they'll be happy to make for you ala carte. Some fancy places won't allow that. I had to order a second round of the BSM 10 wagyu beef. So ono! This place is worth a visit. You'll not be disappointed. I'll definitely visit again whenever I'm in town!
